Floating Floors

Floating timber or “engineered” floors are the fast and convenient way to have a real timber floor. It can be installed over any flat, sound subfloor such as concrete, plywood, tiles or existing timber flooring. With no acclimatising, sanding or finishing required and the flooring can be walked on almost immediately. A typical floating timber floor has a solid hardwood top wear layer of 3.5mm and finished with six coats of scratch resistant UV cured finish for maximum durability. The middle and bottom layers of plywood are plantation grown timber from managed forests that give a total thickness of 14mm. Floating timber floors offer the best possible alternative to solid timber flooring. The boards are precisely manufactured to create the same look as solid timber, and pre-finished so you won’t have any of the hassle of installation, sanding and polishing, while enabling you to walk on your new floor as soon as it is laid.
